Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some specific FAQ and known issues with the current release. If you don't find your answer here please create a public discussion or drop us a note at contact@vuuch.com.

In the current implementation if you rename your file your discussions will become disconnected from the file. The discussions will not be lost but they will not be available through the file anymore. This is a limitation that we will address in future releases. This is a use case we would like feedback on as well as there are cases where you would want to keep the discussions related to the new file and cases where you would not.

Yes this is correct. Currently we rely on the file name no changing. This is something we are speaking with people about how this should work.

Yes when you save a file from a discussion if you want the discussions to show in the downloaded file you must remove the number from the file.

Currently there is no method to delete these relationships. This is someting we are working on. If you really want to delete the relationship between discussions and parts then you can delete the part and all it's reltionships will be gone.

This is something we are working on improving. Currently the only way to know what what Parts a Discussion is already related to is to open the "Relate to Part" dialog box and look to see what is already selected.

There is a work around which is to refresh the window. Once you refresh the browser you should be able to activate/type. We are working on a fix.

Parts are created by the team. Parts are a way of collecting discussions. Discussions can be related to parts and therefore are easy to find by navigating the defined parts. Discussions can be related to more than one part and files. Therefore parts are related to other parts and files through discussions. Many people on the team are not aware of the files being used but they are very aware of the part being designed. Parts gives these people a simple way to organize discussions.

Vuuch does not store your files. Vuuch learns about files as people create discussions within files on thier desktop. Vuuch allows you to navigate your discussions by navigating the files that have been discovered. Within a discussion you can attach files and these attachments are availble through the discussion.

The best way to contact support and reach the forum of users at the same time is to create a "Public Discussion". Public discussions are availbale for all users to reply to and they are also posted on www.socialbom.com. All replies at socialbom.com are sent back to you in Vuuch. If you would like you can also send an email to contact@vuuch.com.

Currently Vuuch is free to any team that agrees to put Vuuch into production. Our current estimate is Vuuch will be between $200-$700 per user per year, but we have not finialized our plan. We will create promotional agreements for any team that agrees to use the initial releases of Vuuch in production.

Just send an email to contact@vuuch.com requesting your password. You will need to verify your account details. Send this mail from the same email address you used to setup your account.

We have preserved all data created during the beta and have migrated it forward. In Vuuch V1 we have provided an ability to export discussions and all attachments to PDF.

Just use the link to the left or go directly to www.vuuch.me/collaboration/register.

You must make sure that you have set "Annotations" to be visible. To do this you use "Settings" menu at the top of the model tree and select "Tree Filter" and a dialog box will open named "Model Tree Items". Within this panel make sure "Annotations" is checked.
